ELECTIONS!

Join us for our annual leadership elections!! We will be having our elections in Morrison, voting members are welcome and if you would like to run for a position, click the link at the top of the website to apply!

Positions:

President:

  • Must have held an E-Board position for one year

  • Serves as the voice of the club to external parties

  • Responsible for coordinating and facilitating weekly E-Board meetings

  • Responsible for the overall success of outing club programming

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of duties by E-Board members

  • Responsible for becoming financially trained by Keene State College

  • Responsible for using P-card when the Treasurer is unable

  • Responsible (with Vice President) for delegating responsibilities of any empty E-Board position(s) until filled

  • Responsible (with Treasurer) for making club-related purchases and financial interactions. Ie: food, transportation, lodging, etc…

  • Responsible (with Treasurer) for managing partners, sponsors, and fundraising efforts 

  • Responsible (with E-Board) for planning and execution of general meetings

Vice President:

  • Must have held a chair position or E-Board position for at least a month

  • Responsible for acting as the President in their absence

  • Responsible (with E-Board) for training and supporting trip leaders according to most recent club guidelines

  • Responsible for interacting with Student Involvement regarding participant rosters, liability waivers, student medical forms, and other necessary items

  • Coordinates and schedules on-campus events through 25Live

  • Responsible for tracking voting membership

  • Responsible for OwlNet posts and detailed website posts for corresponding events or topics

Admin (Treasurer & Secretary):

  • Responsible for reporting financial information to the club and keeping up to date records of financial interactions

  • Responsible for requesting funds according to the most up to date protocols through Keene State College

  • Responsible for becoming financially trained by Keene State College

  • Responsible (with president) for making all club-related purchases and financial interactions. Ie: food, transportation, lodging, etc…

  • Responsible for coordinating with the Director of Operations regarding financial details related to travel

  • Responsible (with E-Board) for deciding pricing for trips where student fees are necessary

  • Responsible for coordinating trip scholarships for participants as needed

  • Responsible (with President) for managing partners, sponsors, and fundraising efforts

  • Responsible for ensuring all participants have paid fees or have received scholarships prior to trip start

  • Responsible for taking minutes and notes during E-board meetings

  • May take on additional duties as assigned

  • Responsible for making necessary equipment purchases

Director of Operations

  • Responsible for working with the Vice President and trip leaders to plan and execute trips

  • Responsible (with assigned trip leader) for creating risk management plans for specific trips

  • Works with Outreach Officer to advertise trip related information and footage

  • Is responsible for filling in for trip leaders in event of trip leader absence

  • Researching and coordinating the procurement of relevant permits needed for trips or events

  • Responsible (with E-Board) for planning at least one Learn to Ski Day each academic year

  • Responsible (with E-Board) for planning at least one Learn to Belay nights or other climbing classes/clinics

Outreach Officer

  • Responsible for creating relevant social media posts for corresponding events

  • Works with the Director of Operations to advertise trip related footage and footage

  • Responsible for all outing club merchandising (apparel, stickers, gear, posters)

  • Interacts with other clubs and organizations via social media

  • Responsible for facilitating the creation and distribution of posters for the Outing Club and its events

  • Responsible for design, visual, and structural upkeep of the Outing Club web page/site

  • As needed, works with chair positions to complete advertising or merchandise-related tasks

  • Responsible for performing duties of vacant officer positions as delegated

  • Provides feedback on officer performance and shares concerns individually or in meetings as needed

  • Responsible for assisting the E-Board with general tasks, ie: organizing trips, gathering quotes, seeking partnerships/sponsorships

  • May take on additional duties as assigned

As you may notice, our officer definitions and quantity of elected positions have changed. Previously, we had 12 elected positions. However, we are currently in the works of changing the structure of the club for what we believe to be the better. So, now we will have the 5 listed above as the elected positions. They are not the only one who will have influence on trips and the club however! We want to call upon you general members more! If you are interested in leading or planning a trip or helping in tasks such as merch designs, social media posts, or any other ideas you may have, there will be the opportunity to do so. This will work similarly to a chair position and will be filled when needed. We will talk more on all positions and opportunities in the coming days and on election day!
